Hippity, hoppity

Yesterday it snowed all morning and all afternoon. The snow didn't stick, but how bizarre it was shopping for Eastery things with snow falling all around. I was out shopping, trying to find a sweater to go with the Easter dress my mom bought for Evie. Everywhere I went I saw short sleeved dresses, but nary a sweater was found. Casper is a very stubborn city. It wants it to be spring and will not accept the fact that winter is still upon us.

Today it was not snowing, but it was about 40 degrees, and pretty windy. Thankfully, the sun was out so we were still able to take Jack out to the little play area for his first egg hunt! Jeremy went out ahead of time to hide the eggs. With the wind blowing so wildly, several of the eggs were tossed to new hiding places. At first Jack just wanted to play with the eggs, but he quickly caught on to the game. He seemed so excited, searching and searching for more eggs to put in his basket.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot:

(Evie is always sticking her tongue out.)

We had a very good Easter. I really look forward to teaching my kids what Easter is really all about, but for now, the dressing up and the egg hunts are pretty fun, but mostly cute.

In Christ Alone
by Stuart Townsend

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

What a cute little egg hunter! I love the pictures! I am glad Jack got to get out and hunt some eggs if only for a little while. Why don't they carry long-sleeved Easter dresses there? Spring has sprung, but if it snows and is so windy all the stinking time, there is no need to deprive kiddos from being warm. Casper IS stubborn! Texas wouldn't do a thing like that. Evie looks so grown up in her little dress too - Precious -

Amy, your family is just SO beautiful!! I know this long ago became a reality for you, but it is still so amazing to me. Specifically, that picture of Jerms and Evie is just too much! I can't even imagine what a great father he is, and you are OBVIOUSLY amazing!!! I'm so proud of you :)
